Nothing says 21st Century like the power and portability of our newest handheld devices. Mobile, cell, PDA…whatever you call them, they can do things that would have been difficult on PCs just a few years ago…and do them nearly anywhere, thanks to ever-expanding cell coverage.

Not to be left behind, online casinos have labored for some time to create fun, fast, user-friendly mobile applications. The fruits of research and development first showed up within the last year, first with mobile poker applications by BoDog and others, and most recently with full-featured online gaming suites.

For the moment, there are only a dozen or so really high-quality mobile casinos. We’re sure that will change as people realize how revolutionary the technology is…and how exciting, fun, and potentially profitable the gaming is! All you need do is visit 32 Red Casino or Casino Tropez for an eye-opening example of the mobile gaming possibilities.

A further drawback is that we have yet to see any casinos that accept US players offer a mobile solution. Of course, Europe and Asia tend to lead the way due to more widespread and reliable mobile coverage, but we shouldn’t have to wait too long. I’m sure that RTG and Rival are feverishly working on iPhone apps and Blackberry software at this very moment. The good news is that BoDog and especially Cake Poker have their poker software live and thoroughly tested for mobiles already.

Microgaming broke a huge barrier when they made Mega Moolah available on their mobile software. If you didn’t know, this is the progressive slot game that consistently breaks records when the jackpot hits (6.3 Million currently holds the top spot…but for how long?). Sure, it would be sweet to win a life-changing jackpot from your home PC…but on the bus? At the airport? In a coffeeshop? Talk about an unforgettable, life-changing experience…
